Barbara Ann Corcora

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran was one of ABC's first Shark investors was a featured guest of each episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, the largest being a $350,000 investment which included 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. At times, the family depended on food delivery for free from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank too much, and behaved towards her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had several drinks. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran who was in the process of failing numerous classes in her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
